Detailed Description of the orphanage / project:
  1. How long has your project been in existence?
The new shrine foundation was started in 2003.
  2. How did it start?
The homeless and poor of poorest migrate or come to the city with hope to get job with their families. Their earnings in the city are not enough for food and to rent a room. Therefore they cannot afford the school fees for their children.

Education is the only real way out of poverty for poor. Without education it is impossible to get basic skills needed to participate in society, to get job and to understand the world.

Therefore the New Shrine Foundation was started.
  3. Is your project religious?
The New Shrine Foundation is a non-political, non-profit and non-religious Non-Government Organization (NGO), registered with His Majesty's Government of Nepal
  4. What do you need volunteers to do? (It is important to have outlined duties for volunteers who come to your project).
    Volunteer in Field – Nepal
    • Teach English, games and music to pre-kindergarden to class 4.
    • Help writing proposal for fund raising for school expansion and sponsorship for students.
    • Help create activities – music, sports, reading stories.

    Volunteer at their home

    • Make a donation, any amount, in any currency would be happily accepted.
    • Become a New Shrine Foundation Team Member $25 per year.
    • Become a Child Sponsor for $100 per year, Individually, or raise funds through your school, church, or business.
    • Become a Regional Coordinator in your Province, State, or Country. We have an ambitious 3 year goal to have at least 1 coordinator in every State and Province in North America and Japan. If you can commit even a few hours per month, you can make a huge difference in the lives of these children. Help coordinate donations, fundraising, promotions, and education activities in your area. Work with your local Churches, Businesses, Unions, Schools, Charities, and Governments.

We would like to have maximum two volunteers at the same time.

We would like to have volunteers from February – June.
