WOMEN'S TEAM MATCH PREVIEW

WOMEN'S TEAM PREVIEW

Published: 20th November 2020

The Women’s squad are in action for the third time in seven days on Sunday and, in a rare coincidence, they mirror the men as they host Hamilton Academical.

This is likely to be the most interesting game in the Scottish Women's Premier League Two this weekend as two excellent sides battle it out at the Regional Performance Centre at 3pm.

The sides normally have little between them in games and have already met this year, in the ill fated 2020 season when two late goals saw the Accies take three points in the League Cup group stage.

Last Sunday saw Gavin Beith’s side travel to St Johnstone with Neve Guthrie's sixth minute winner earning the points on a tough pitch due to the conditions. Robyn Smith also earned a point on Tuesday v Glasgow as two excellent finishes, particularly the second, saw the side come from 2-0 down, however they were unlucky not to take all three as they dominated the second half.

Hamilton have started the season with ten points from six games, but their results have been a mixed bag, with defeats to Glasgow and Aberdeen coupled with a draw with St Johnstone. Their wins this season have come against Boroughmuir, Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock.

Squad wise, there is no change as Captain Keira Johnstone and Danni McGinley continue their progress from injury, however Ellie-Jai Reid is still a long term absentee.

Updates for this will be on Twitter @dundeeunitedwfc while highlights will be available on YouTube at a later time.
